Hello, well here we are, another Saturday, another #blogpost. Just to keep you up to date with all things Lets Market, we have secured one of our biggest contracts to date with a group of companies based in #Leeds. We will be coming on board from a #businessdevelopment perspective, working on brand awareness, boosting #sales, winning new accounts, generating leads, and boosting their #ROI…now I’ve got the self-promotion out of the way, let’s talk about something a bit more interesting.

I don’t need to remind you all of the challenges at the moment, good mental health and overall wellbeing are more important than ever. I read an article last week that really caught my attention. I had a pretty big week ahead of me at work, so I thought I would give it ago. It was simple and anyone can do it. After doing this for a week, I found it to be a really positive experience. I am going to share something with you which has brought my stress levels down and allowed me to have a better night’s sleep, which translates into better mental health, more energy and better all-round performance. What is it I hear you say?

What is the first thing you do when you wake up and the last thing you do before you go to bed? …....AND NOOO.......I can hear all those naughty minds as I type this.

The correct answer is……your phone…...

The first thing we do is grab our phone when we wake up, the last thing we do is check our phone before we go to sleep.

The #Challenge…. Every morning after you wake up and every evening before you go to sleep, for 1 hour - DO NOT LOOK at your phone. ‘That’s stupid, why? and not a chance I hear you say.’

‘Well…..What’s the worst thing that can happen?’ I reply.

Do you really miss waking up in the morning, grabbing your phone straight away, seeing an article or pictures that wind you up, scroll social media, read headlines of your team loosing, what an ex is up to the night before? Do you really need to start replying to your emails that are not urgent? That can wait until you are in work time. This is all negative and has a negative impact on you, starting the day on the wrong foot. You do not realise it at the time, I definitely didn’t until after this week, but it is true. The same goes for last thing at night, do you really need to scroll through social media and watch YouTube videos of cats drinking prosecco etc?.... I am pretty sure the answer is no.

So, all this last week, the hour before I went to bed, I spent time planning for the day ahead, making a list (and even checking it twice) and doing this crazy thing called talking. Results were I felt better, got to sleep quicker, woke up less during the night. This was a knock-on effect to the next day. I woke up fresh, got a workout in, had a coffee, sat down, and made time for me.

Has not looking at my phone for a whole 2 hours affected my life in a negative way? No…. I had a great week at work, I have had more energy, I have been happier and started and ended my day the way I wanted, not how society dictates.

So, this Monday, try this for one week and I am pretty confident you will understand everything I have talked about and will not look back. If you do give this a go, I would love to hear your feedback. Please get in touch and let me know how you get on.

Next week, I will be reviewing the hottest non-alcoholic drinks, cocktails and spirits and see if they live up to the hype and see if they taste better than the original. Be ready to be amazed.

Once again, thank you for your time, stay Safe and speak next Saturday.

Simon X
